Volunteer with the Mindful Wellness Center of Austin

Volunteer Opportunities

We have experienced a lot of growth with our affordable counseling program. In order to better support our community with quality and diverse services as well as supporting our clinicians who are fine-tuning their skills as they work towards full licensure, MWCA needs clinical and non-clinical volunteers and board members.

If you are passionate about affordable, accessible, holistic, and mindfulness-based services in Austin and have about 3-4 hours per month to volunteer, please consider the areas below to see if there is a good fit for both of us.

Areas we could use support:

COUNSELING PROGRAM CLINICAL PARTNERS

We are looking for clinical partners who can be available for client-related questions from post-graduate therapists at MWCA. The clinical partners will hold peer support meetings that incorporate mindfulness-based practices. There will also be a potential opportunity to supervise graduate students during field placement. Clinical partners can expect to volunteer 1-2 hours of their time per week. This role will not require administrative tasks.

Clinical Partner Requirements:

~ Clinical partners must be a fully licensed LPC, LCSW, or LMFT with counseling experience

~ Must be a mindfulness-based clinician and located in the Austin area

~ Supervisor license is preferred

INTEGRATIVE PARTNERS

We would love to partner with integrative practitioners to expand our holistic services. We are interested in working with herbalists, acupuncturists, functional nutritionists, music therapists, yoga instructors, movement & expressive arts healers, and other integrative healers.

Board Member Opportunities

MWCA is seeking volunteer board members to join the team. We are looking for new board members to serve on committees and take on special assignments. Board members are asked to attend bi-monthly board meetings (6 per year) as well as committee meetings and special events.

Our Current Board Needs:

Business Development & Fundraising:

We are looking for a board member/director to coordinate fundraising events, network with community partners, and implement growth opportunities.

The business development director can expect to volunteer 2-4 hours per month outside of board meetings.

Social Media and Technology:

Our website, Instagram, and Facebook are live but are in need of some TLC so that our information can be easily found (SEO, connecting us with other sites for referrals). This board member would oversee the interns and volunteers that create our blog and social media content. Commitment is around 1 hour per week.
